Contract workers will start Jail Bharo movement tomorrow
Raipur. The government is not taking care of the contractual employees of the state who are on strike to fulfill the promise of regularization, due to which the angry employees shouted at Raipur Tuta protest site to fill the jail collectively on the occasion of Hareli on 17th July. In protest against the imposition of ESMA on the striking health workers, the contract workers have submitted mass resignations.
State President of Chhattisgarh All Departmental Contract Employees Federation, Kaushalesh Tiwari said that in a democracy, there is a right to raise one’s voice in a democratic way. Instead of fulfilling its promise of regularization and establishing dialogue, the government is repressing the voice of contract employees. We are still fighting for stability and respect. Working President Hemant Sinha says that the government had to take sensitive steps, but it is bent on repression. In protest against this, the contract workers will hold a Jail Bharo agitation on 17th July, the day of Hareli Tihar.
Federation’s media in-charge and spokesperson Suraj Singh Thakur said that the ESMA law imposed on health workers should be repealed immediately. The Congress government has promised in its public manifesto that regularization of all contractual employees will be done. We are appealing to fulfill this promise. But it is unfortunate that even after five and a half years, we have to come on the road and fight for our rights.
