Distribution of filariasis medicine continues regularly
Raipur. About 67 lakh people living in 23 blocks of seven districts, which are considered sensitive in case of filariasis, will be fed medicine to prevent filariasis. The campaign will be monitored by a team coming from Delhi. Information health is involved in the preparations for this campaign. Filariasis is very difficult to diagnose and once the report is positive, its treatment is not possible. That’s why the health department is already taking medicine to prevent this infection.
A campaign will be launched from August 10 to 16 to provide medicines to about 67.64 lakh people of Durg, Balod, Bemetara, Janjgir-Champa, Sakti district and Lormi block of Mungeli and Saraipali block of Mahasamund, due to receiving cases of filariasis. There is a possibility of a team coming from Delhi to monitor this campaign, keeping this in mind preparations are being made on a large scale. The last high level meeting was held for this campaign. In this, it was directed to form a team to deal with situations like drug management and training of its users and side effects. Along with this, 27 thousand drug administration, 2700 supervisors and 270 sector supervisors have been selected for the campaign including mobile teams.
Deworming medicine will also be given, during this time, keeping in mind the National Deworming Day, children up to 19 years of age will be given deworming medicine across the state. For this, a campaign will be conducted in health centers as well as in educational institutions and mop-up rounds will be conducted to reach home to feed the children who are left out.
