Excise team detained in Odisha’s Balasore while conducting raid
Jaleswar: The Excise team has been detained in Balasore district of Odisha while conducting a raid in the area on Tuesday, said reports.
An employee was detained after going for a raid. An employee of the Jaleswar Excise department was detained for two hours when he went to raid the house of a liquor dealer.
The incident allegedly took place in Ausa village under Kamarda police station of Balasore district, said reliable reports.
After receiving the news, the Additional Tahsildar of Bhograi and Kamarda police station reached the spot and rescued the homeless team.
In the complaint hearing camp organized in Bhograi block area yesterday, there was an allegation of selling illegal liquor in Ausa village.
On the basis of the complaint, Jaleswar Excise department raided the house of illegal liquor dealer Kanhu Barik of Ausa village. When Kanhu Barik reached the scene during the raid, the family detained the Excise team for two hours.
The Bhograi Additional Tehsildar and police officers reached the spot and rescued them. Liquor worth lakhs of rupees has been seized. The Excise team has arrested a woman who was present in the house.
