Bengaluru: A disturbing incident has come to light from Hassan district of Karnataka. A 23-year-old school teacher was kidnapped by three men in broad daylight on Thursday morning after she refused his marriage proposal. This heart-wrenching incident was captured on CCTV and shared on social media.
The victim has been identified as Arpita. The CCTV footage shows the SUV slowly approaching Arpita, who was outside the school where she taught.
Arpita was going to school at around 8 in the morning when some people picked her up in a Toyota Innova and took her away. Arpita’s family has claimed that their relative Ramu is behind the kidnapping. Family members said that Ramu had expressed his desire to marry Arpita about 15 days ago, but she and her parents had rejected the proposal. He alleged that Angered by this, Ramu kidnapped Arpita.
Superintendent of Police Mohammad Sujitha, who visited the spot, said three police teams have been formed to trace the kidnappers. Police said, “The family has accused Ramu of being behind the kidnapping. Arpita is a teacher at Aradhana School and we are investigating why she came out of the house as it was a holiday.”
A local man said he heard the woman scream and when he saw, the men put her in a car and drove away. The woman said, “There were not many people on the road at that time. When she screamed people came out to see what had happened.”
