Gold chain snatching case solved in Telibandha, two accused, including a woman, arrested.

Raipur. Raipur Police have made a significant breakthrough in a roadside gold chain snatching case in the Telibandha police station area, arresting two individuals. The Anti-Crime and Cyber Unit and the Telibandha police station team jointly achieved this success. The two minors – Hasmukh Mahanand and a female minor, Kaushilya Maheshwari – were arrested, and the stolen gold chain and the motorcycle used in the crime were recovered from their possession. The total value of the stolen chain is estimated at approximately Rs. 2,50,000. The third minor involved in the incident is still at large and is being searched for. The incident occurred on October 27, 2025, at approximately 7:30 PM.
In the Telibandha police station area, near the Ram Temple on VIP Road, the complainant, Nidhis Rao, and his friend Abhishek Jaydev were standing by the roadside. At that time, two unknown boys on a Honda Shine motorcycle approached them, and in a dangerous manner, snatched the gold chain from Nidhis Rao’s neck. When the complainant resisted, one of the perpetrators threatened him with a knife, and they fled on the motorcycle. Considering the seriousness of the case, Senior Superintendent of Police Dr. Lal Umed Singh directed Additional Superintendent of Police Crime Sandeep Group, Deputy Superintendent of Police Crime Sanjay Singh, City Superintendent of Police Civil Line Ramakant Bhandari, In-charge Anti-Crime and Cyber Unit, and the Station House Officer of Telibandha police station to quickly identify and apprehend the unknown criminals.
Police Action and Investigation
The police team inspected the crime scene and conducted detailed questioning of the complainant and his friend. CCTV footage from the area was examined, and the suspects were identified through technical analysis. Information was also gathered through informants. During this process, the team received crucial information that Hasmukh Mahanand, a resident of Telibandha, was involved in the robbery. Hasmukh was interrogated, and he confessed to committing the robbery with his friend and giving the gold chain to the female minor, Kaushilya Maheshwari. Kaushilya Maheshwari stated during the investigation that she knew it was a case of gold theft, yet she kept the stolen gold and attempted to sell it. Based on this, Section 317(2) of the BNS was also added to the charge sheet. The looted gold from the business establishment and a United motorcycle used in the incident have been seized. The arrested accused include Hasmukh Mahanand (19), a resident of Sankalp Home Society, Labhandi, and Kaushilya Maheshwari (35), a resident of Suraj Nagar.

Shankar Yadav, and from Telibandha Police Station, Sub-Inspector Keju Ram Dhruv, Head Constables Ramnarayan Patel and Amit Sinha played a crucial role in this operation. Police said that the search for the third person involved in the case is ongoing and all possible efforts are being made to arrest him soon.
Charges and Legal Action
A case has been registered against both individuals at Telibandha Police Station under Crime Number 697/25, including Sections 309(4), 317(2), and 3(5) of the BNS. Police said that swift action was taken after keeping a close watch on those involved in the robberies and the perpetrators. This action is a result of the promptness and technical assistance of the Raipur Police, which has led to a significant success in bringing the culprits to justice.
