Government is starting Vishwakarma scheme, will get incentive of Rs 15 thousand
The central government is ready to encourage artisans and workers. PM Vishwakarma Yojana will be launched on 17th September. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the scheme at the Indian International Convention and Exhibition Centre, Dwarka in the national capital. Under the scheme, apart from collateral-free business development loans at concessional interest rates, beneficiaries will be provided a toolkit through e-voucher or eRUPI. Each will also get Rs 15,000 as incentive. Additionally, artisans will also get an incentive of Re 1 per transaction for a maximum of 100 transactions per month.
What is Vishwakarma Yojana?
This scheme provides a loan of Rs 1 lakh in the first phase to start and expand a business. During the second phase the scheme provides concessional loans up to Rs 2 lakh to workers. 18 types of workers were included in this scheme.
Who will benefit from this?
Under this scheme of the Central Government, benefits will be provided to blacksmiths, potters, masons, washermen, flower growers, fishing net weavers, lock key makers, sculptors etc. Apart from this, workers from some other sectors will also get this benefit.
How will you get financial assistance?
Under PM Vishwakarma Yojana, loan up to Rs 1 lakh will be provided in the first phase. The interest rate on this will be maximum 5%. After this, in the second phase, a concessional loan of Rs 2 lakh each will be given to the eligible workers. Besides, these craftsmen and artisans will also be given PM Vishwakarma certificates and identity cards. An assistance of Rs 15,000 will also be given to purchase modern equipment.

For workers, the government has sanctioned Rs 13,000 crore under this scheme for a period of five years (FY24-28). Under this system the minimum age was kept at 18 years. Only one member of the family will get the benefit of this scheme. Candidates must also submit a self-declaration form.
