Government will awaken women power through Durga pandals during Navratri in Uttar Pradesh
Lucknow: In Uttar Pradesh, once again a big campaign for women empowerment will be launched under Mission Shakti on Shardiya Navratri for the safety, respect and self-reliance of women. This time the campaign will be run circle wise across the state from 15th to 24th October, in which awareness rallies will be taken out from various Gram Sabhas, Durga Pandals, temples, wards, mohallas of the state.
During this period, awareness on women safety and empowerment will be spread at various places through street plays, short films, mutual dialogue and loudspeakers. Every Gram Panchayat rally will also have a stop where pre-determined programs will take place.
Women and Child Protection Organization’s ADG BP Jogdand said that like every year, this time too, preparations have been completed for the women empowerment campaign under Mission Shakti across the state on Shardiya Navratri. The rally will pass through 58,754 gram panchayats and 1300 wards and localities of 450 circles of all 75 districts of the state.
Local area officers will participate in the circle wise rally and will visit 10 to 12 gram panchayats of their circle every day. During this period, the rally will have a stop in every gram panchayat, ward, locality, where pre-determined programs like short films, street plays, mutual dialogue and audio messages will be given.
Programs will also be organized in the puja pandals falling on the rally route. Information about women safety, women related government schemes, women related helplines will be given in various programs.
Safe City campaign will also be run under Mission Shakti. In this, a target has been set to build three thousand pink booths across the state, in which in the first phase, pink booths will be built at 20 religious places located in nine districts. Similarly, electric two-wheelers will be provided to all 10,417 Mahila Beats, in which 1100 Mahila Beats will be provided the facility in the first phase.
