Grand Annakoot ceremony organized in Hyderabad on Sunday
Hyderabad: Satyam Shivam Sundaram Gau Niwas at Peddamma Gadda, Gaganpahad is all set to organize its grand function on Sunday. On this occasion, the famous holiday haven, which is spread over 8 acres and hosts 6,000 holidaymakers, will also celebrate its 23rd anniversary with spiritual and cultural programmes.
Dharmaraj Ranka of Satyam Shivam Sundaram Gau Niwas told that Annakoot festival is celebrated at the beginning of every new year. The Lord offers a variety of food prepared with love and devotion. Thousands of devotees are expected to participate in the festival.
Although ‘Annakoot’ literally means “mountain of food”, it symbolizes the love and devotion put into offering food to the Lord and preparing it. Traditionally, Annakoot symbolizes the devotion of offering the first harvest and distributing it to all.
Through proper maintenance, cow shelters provide dignified life and humane treatment to cows who have escaped death. The foundation was founded by Dharam Raj Ranka, an 83-year-old man with the mission of protecting India’s most iconic animal, the “Vaka”.
Ranka is considered to be the pioneer of the concept of Gau Shalas in the twin cities and has played a decisive role in the construction of various Gau Shalas.
