New Delhi: Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai on Monday said that the measures mentioned in the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP)-4 rules, implemented in view of the high levels of pollution in the national capital and NCR, are in compliance with CAQM (Commission for Air Quality Management). Will remain effective until further notice. The decision was taken after a pollution review meeting with officials. Addressing a press conference here, Rai stressed on continuing the ban on BS-3 petrol vehicles and BS-4 diesel vehicles.
He further said that all trucks, except those transporting essential commodities, connected to essential services or running on CNG and electricity, will be prohibited from entering Delhi.
Rai also reiterated his appeal to the governments of Uttar Pradesh and Haryana, urging them to deploy teams on the eastern and western perimeters to facilitate the redirection of buses and trucks on alternative routes.

There was smog in Delhi, Noida, Gurugram and surrounding areas on Monday morning. Pollution has increased after bursting of firecrackers on a large scale on Diwali night in defiance of the Supreme Court ban order.
The incident worsened the already serious pollution problem in the National Capital Region. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), at 10 am, the PM10 level in Anand Vihar stood at 500 and PM2.5 at 473, which was in the ‘severe’ category. Carbon monoxide (CO) at 131 was in the ‘moderate’ category.
The level of PM2.5 in Bawana reached ‘severe’ category at 469 and PM10 at ‘very poor’ category at 376, while CO was at ‘satisfactory’ level at 78 and NO2 at 12 in ‘good’ category. At Dwarka Sector-8 station on Monday morning, PM2.5 reached 444 in the ‘severe’ category, while PM10 was at 360 in the ‘very poor’ category. The air quality in the Indira Gandhi International Airport T3 area was in the ‘severe’ category. Here the level of PM 2.5 was 431 and that of PM10 was 295 in the ‘poor’ category.
