Hyderabad: Famous Kinnara artist Mogilaiah’s condition critical, admitted to Warangal hospital
Hyderabad: Famous kinnar artist Mogilaiah of Balagam film fame is in a critical condition and was admitted to a private hospital in Warangal on Wednesday. The artist, who made the folk song ‘Thoduga Ma Thodundi’ in Balagam an instant hit, suffered from dangerous blood pressure and diabetes on Wednesday morning. “We admitted him to a local private hospital. We are struggling financially and we need assistance from the state government immediately to save his life,” Mogilaiah’s wife said.
The famous kinnar artist has been in poor health and was admitted to the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) last year following which the then state health minister T Harish Rao immediately intervened and arranged for him to be taken to the hospital for treatment. Both the kidneys of the artist had failed due to chronic diabetes and hypertension and he has been on dialysis since then. “The vital parameters, including BP and sugar levels, started fluctuating wildly and he fainted for some time. We rushed him to a private hospital but we do not have enough savings to treat him. I urge the state government to intervene and help us,” she said.
