Hyderabad: NRI stabbed to death
Hyderabad: An NRI was killed by gunmen in Shekhpet on Sunday night.
The victim, Ghaus Mohiuddin, lived in an apartment in Shaikpet with his wife, three children and other family members.
In February 2022, Ghaus’s wife Meena Rohi moved to the United Kingdom to pursue higher studies and three months later, Ghaus and his three sons went to the United Kingdom and joined Meena. However, Ghaus returned to India with his three sons while Rohi remained in London.
In November 2023, he returned to India and since then was allegedly being harassed by Hasan, a Hyderabad-based man who also lived in the United Kingdom and was known to the woman.
On Sunday afternoon, Hasan reached Rohi’s house and tried to kidnap him. When Ghaus intervened and tried to take him into custody, a fight broke out between them and Hassan attacked Ghaus with a knife, escalating the altercation. He was taken to hospital where he died during treatment, Filmnagar Inspector K Ramesh Gaur said.
The case has been registered and investigation is ongoing.
