Hyderabad: Passengers troubled as lower and main parts of Tank Bund remain closed

Hyderabad: A day after Telangana Foundation Day, many motorists had to deal with traffic congestion on Lower and Main Tank Bund roads on Monday. The entire stretch of Lower and Main Tank Bund remained closed even after the Foundation Day celebrations on Sunday. The traffic restrictions were notified only for June 1 and 2, but the barricades were not removed even on Monday morning. Office goers and commuters remained stuck in traffic jams, causing delays for many in reaching their destinations. Tank Bund and Lower Tank Bund are important connecting roads used by many commuters to reach the western part of the city.Motors coming from Raniganj and Secunderabad, who were already troubled by the closure of Lower Tank Bund road, had to take a longer route. Those coming from Khairatabad also faced a similar situation. This resulted in heavy traffic on the Telugu Thalli flyover.
