Hyderabad: PJTSAU students call for university strike on January 11
Hyderabad: Students of Universidad Agricola Estatal Professor Jaishankar Telangana (PJTSAU) have organized a university band to protest against the state government’s decision to allot 100 acres of land, some of which belongs to the university, for the construction of a new building. Apart from the so-called bandh, the Students Joint Action Committee called for protests in all universities in the state. On Wednesday, students will also hold a protest along with a demonstration in the university campus here. They also organized “Vanta Varpu” (street cooking stall) as part of their demonstration. While PG and PhD students led the protest, graduate students also joined in.
“We have called a varsity band on Thursday. If the government does not withdraw GO 55 allocating land for the construction of the Superior Tribunal building, we will intensify our protest in the coming days”, said Satyamurthy, president of PTSAU, the doctoral researchers’ association.
