Illegal liquor recovered in five police stations of the district, 3 accused arrested

Jaisalmer : As part of the campaign being run by the police against illegal liquor in connection with the upcoming assembly elections in Jaisalmer, illegal liquor was recovered while taking action from five police stations on Thursday night. Pokaran Police Station Officer Dinesh Lakhawat said that the team formed under the leadership of Sub Inspector Bharmal reached the road leading to Badli Nathusar after 7.30 pm on Thursday evening on the information of the informer. Here a person was carrying a white colored bag. Seeing the police, he threw the pistol in the bushes and started running away. When the police arrested him and interrogated him, he revealed his name as Devaram son of Bhanvaruram Meghwal, resident of Badli Nathusar. When the katta found in his possession was searched, 51 pavves of Dhola Maru country liquor were found in it. These were seized and the accused was arrested.
Similarly, Ramdevra police station’s head constable Shishupal was patrolling the area with the police force and after getting information from the informer, he reached near Brajpura settlement after 6.30 pm. Here a person was sitting before the railway gate on the side of Brajpura Basti Road. Seeing the police, the man started running away with a pistol in one hand and a curtain in the other. When the police searched him and interrogated him, he told his name as Samersingh son of Kishore Singh, resident of Viramdevra. Police searched the bags and cartons found in his possession and recovered 46 pavs of country liquor and 5 bottles of Kingfisher beer. These were seized and the accused was arrested.

SHO Lalitkishore of Bhaniana police station along with the police force, after receiving information from the informer after 9 pm on Thursday night, reached a shop on the Ratadiya-Bhaniana road towards Bhaniana, about 1 km away from Padrora Phanta. A person was standing near the closed shop with a plastic bag, who after seeing the police, threw the bag in the bushes and started running away. The police force chased him, but the accused ran away due to darkness at night. When the police recovered the pistol thrown by the accused from the bushes and searched it, 48 pavs of illegal country liquor were recovered from it. Which were confiscated. The accused was identified as Nagaram son of Bhairaram Jat, resident of Moolasar, Ratadiya. A case was registered against him and a search was started.

On receiving information from the informer, the police force under the leadership of Police Station Officer Bagunguram reached the road leading from Delasar to Dhaniya Nada after 7 pm on Thursday evening. A person was walking here. Who had a pistol in his hand. Seeing the police he started running. When the police searched him and interrogated him, he told his name as Narpat Singh, son of Bag Singh, resident of Delasar. When the katta found with him was searched, 60 pavs of country liquor were recovered from it. These were seized and the accused was arrested.

Similarly, the Nachna police force under the leadership of Station Officer Ajit Singh was patrolling the area at 5.30 pm on Thursday evening. On receiving information from the informer, the police reached the CC road leading to the village from near the government school in Didhu village. Here a person was going towards Didhu village. The police went after him, but after seeing the police vehicle, he threw the white pistol he was carrying and started running towards the village population. The police force chased him, but could not catch him as he went into the streets and populated areas. Police identified him as Narayan Singh son of Sang Singh, resident of Didhu. When the police searched the bag thrown by the accused, they found 3 pavs of rum, 5 pavs of whiskey, 6 pavs of whiskey, 4 pavs of McDowell’s Celebration Rum, 4 pavs of vodka, 4 pavs of whiskey, Jodhpur High. Three paves of dry wine and 28 paves of country liquor were recovered. Police seized them, registered a case and started searching for the accused.
