Jaipur: Mahant Siyaram Das Maharaj, a 93-year-old priest of Bhuria Mahadev Baba Dham, was murdered in Diggi Town of Tonk district in Rajasthan. After the murder, angry people have started protesting. Police said that the priest was murdered on Tuesday night. On Wednesday, when the local people went to the temple to worship, they found the dead body and soon a crowd gathered there.
People protested outside the temple demanding the arrest of the killers. On receiving information about this, Superintendent of Police Rajarshi Raj Verma reached the spot. According to the local people, the priest used to worship at the ancient Bhuria Mahadev Baba Dham located in Diggi for the last 50 years. He lived alone in the temple. As soon as the news of Mahant’s murder spread in the city, a large number of people gathered. Fury prevailed among the people and they sat on a dharna outside the temple raising slogans and closed the market.
Dog squad has been called by the police administration to find clues. SP Verma said that this is murder. A team has been formed and the killers are being searched. Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said, “It is very sad that Mahant Sant Siyaram Das Baba Ji of Tonk region was brutally murdered. Why are saints and sages being targeted by criminals in Rajasthan?
This was not seen anywhere else in the country. The neglect of Sant Samaj is part of the appeasement policy of the Gehlot government. Congress promotes anti-social elements who harass saints and saints to maintain their vote bank. BJP State Vice President and Tonk MP Sukhbir Singh Jaunapuria attacked the Gehlot government. He said that the administration is only engaged in the propaganda of the government. He said that due to the wrong policies of the state government, such incidents keep happening in Malpura area.
