Liquor worth Rs 41 lakh recovered in joint operation of police and STF
Fatehpur. Jehanabad police and STF team, in a joint operation late on Wednesday night, recovered a liquor truck which was going from Ludhiana in Punjab to Hazaribagh, an informant said. On receiving the information, STF and police arrived and during the search, recovered 550 boxes of English liquor loaded in the truck. The value of the recovered liquid is said to be Rs 41 lakh.
According to the information, late in the evening the police and STF received information that a truck filled with liquor from non-state was passing through Ghatampur Road on the route going to Choudharyghar. When the police stopped the truck near Chilli Junction on Ghatampur Road, the truck driver tried to drive away at high speed. The truck was surrounded and captured.
When the police searched the truck, they found 550 boxes of liquor inside. The price is said to be Rs 41 lakh. Police interrogated truck driver Sahil son of Mohammad Aslam, resident of Bandhua Kala Rainanagar police station Bandhua Kala district Sultanpur and operator Mohammad Taslim son of Mohammad Muslim who lives upstairs. The accused told that they were going to Hazaribagh with liquor from Ludhiana. Police and STF registered a case, seized liquor worth Rs 41 lakh and a truck worth Rs 25 lakh and also registered a case under relevant sections.
