Lok Sabha Elections 2024: TR Balu will attend the Indian National Congress meeting on June 1
Chennai: DMK president and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin said that DMK MP T.R.Baalu will represent the party at the I.N.D.I.A. block meeting to be held in New Delhi on Saturday. Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge had earlier said that the multi-party I.N.D.I.A. block will hold an informal meeting on Saturday to discuss preparations for the counting of votes on June 4 and how its leaders and workers need to be vigilant.
“June 4 will be the beginning of a new dawn for India. In today’s I.N.D.I.A. block leaders’ meeting, the DMK will be represented by our party treasurer and DMK Parliamentary Party leader Thiru. T.R.Baalu,” Stalin said in a post on ‘X’. Kharge had earlier said that Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee has informed that she will be busy with elections on Saturday and, therefore, will not be able to attend it. The seventh and final phase of Lok Sabha elections is being held across the country, including Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal, on Saturday.
The DMK chief expressed confidence that the opposition alliance will emerge victorious.
“Our India Block, formed to defeat the BJP’s ten-year fascist rule and save India, has lived up to the expectations of the people and is on the verge of victory. It has forged a strong coalition of democratic forces against the BJP, which thought there was no one to challenge them. This alliance now offers a ray of hope to all Indians in the electoral fray,” he said.
“Through relentless campaigning, the India Block leaders have dismantled the false image created by the BJP in the public sphere. With only three days left for our imminent victory, I urge our workers to remain vigilant during the counting process,” Stalin said.
