Mahua liquor packed in polythene and supplied, villager arrested

Dhamtari. A villager who had set out to supply Mahua liquor packed in polythene has been arrested. On the information given by the informer, action was taken against a person in village Araud and he was caught red handed while illegally storing and transporting Mahua liquor.

From whose possession, 95 pieces of Mahua Liquor, 71 liters of 250 ml Mahua Liquor, worth Rs. 8550/- and a used Scooty Hero, worth Rs. 50000/- and Jumla, worth Rs. 58550/- were recovered from his possession. Accused Munna Kumar father Bhukhu was found to have committed crime under Section 34(2) of the Excise Act by seizing 71 liters of 250 milliliters of illicit Mahua liquor and keeping it for sale from the accused’s possession on the spot for not presenting any valid document in connection with the sale. Kamar was duly arrested, crime number 15/24 of Arjuni police station, section 34 (2) of the Excise Act was registered and taken for investigation and sent on judicial remand.
