Man, daughter and son drown in well
Seoni: A man drowned in a well along with his 11-year-old daughter and a teenage son in a village in Seoni district, police said on Wednesday.
According to an official, the incident took place on Tuesday night in Dhaprahar village, which is within the limits of Dhuma police station.
According to Seoni Superintendent of Police (SP) Rakesh Kumar Singh, the incident occurred when the victim, 50-year-old Subhash Sahu, had gone to his farm to spray pesticides on crops.
Sahu’s son Arpit was mixing pesticide in a bucket while taking water from the well, when his foot slipped and he fell into it. Seeing this, Sahu jumped into the well to save him. When they started drowning, Sahu’s daughter Arpita also jumped in to save them,” he claimed.
Police took out the dead bodies
People gathered at the spot and somehow saved Achhe Lal. However, Sahu and his two children could not be saved, he said.
He told that after some time a police team reached the spot and took out the three bodies.
In another incident, a 13-year-old girl and a 21-year-old woman lost their lives during ‘Karthik Snan’ in Angoori river in Datia.
