Minor girl drowns in pond in Malkangiri while collecting coins from boats during Kartik Purnima
Malkangiri: Untoward happening during Kartik Purnima, a minor girl drowned in a pond while going to collect money from a boat in Malkangiri. Such an incident occurred in a village in Champanagar near Malkangiri district of Odisha.
According to information, early this morning a minor girl of Champanagar village near Malkangari along with her friends went to collect money from a boat floated in a nearby pond. However, she drowned while collecting money. Other friends saw this and ran away. But did not tell anyone about this.
After the minor’s family searched, they got the news that she had drowned in the water. Her body was recovered from the pond after a long time.
She was immediately taken to the medical center where the doctor declared her brought dead. While everyone was celebrating Kartik Purnima, the girl’s family was in tears. Due to this incident, a shadow of mourning has been cast in the village.
