MP: School bus carrying dozens of students catches fire in Sidhi
Sidhi: A private school bus carrying around a dozen children caught fire in Madhya Pradesh’s Sidhi district on Wednesday morning, a police officer said. Fortunately, no casualties were recorded.
Neither the students nor the bus driver were injured, the official said. They were all safe, with only minor damage to the vehicle.
The incident occurred on Wednesday morning when the bus was going to pick students to school as usual. The children got scared when smoke came out of the bus and the bus driver suddenly applied brakes near the police line ground.
According to Kotwali police station in-charge Abhishek Upadhyay, the driver of the bus immediately saw the fire, stopped it and safely evacuated the children inside.
Eyewitnesses claimed that all the twelve youth present inside the bus at the time of the incident survived safely.
According to the police officer, a fire engine arrived to immediately control the fire.
He claimed that the bus was completely destroyed by the flames, adding that the cause of the incident was still unknown.
