People who reached Dhamtari enjoyed the Water Olympics
Dhamtari. On the second day of the two-day Jal Jagar Maha Utsav organized at Ravishankar Reservoir Gangrel, participants and people from Raipur and other districts of the state arrived today. During this, a lot of enthusiasm was seen among the people about Jal Olympics. People who reached here thoroughly enjoyed kayaking, swimming, banana ride, free style swimming, flag rain, throw row, river crossing etc.
On this occasion, Sanjay Bachani, Amit Goyal, Rakesh of Raipur praised the initiatives taken for water conservation in Dhamtari, especially the efforts made with community participation and its results. Participants believe that it is not only the responsibility of the government and administration, but it is the responsibility of the entire society to be aware of water conservation and try to save every drop of water. Other people who reached Jal Olympics also believe that while worrying about all the issues like falling groundwater level, cutting of trees, soil erosion, everyone should work consciously towards water harvesting structures, plantation for water and environmental conservation for the future.
Mr Vedant Verma, who came from Bilaspur for Jal Olympics, said that swimming is his hobby, so he is participating in Jal Olympics. He also knows and believes that everyone should come forward for water conservation, because if there is water, there is tomorrow. It is worth mentioning that the district administration has made strong security arrangements including life jackets, medical kits for the participants at Gangrel Dam for Jal Olympics in Jal Jagar Maha Utsav.
