Pithoragarh: CM Dhami made headlines in road show

Pithoragarh: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Tuesday credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for ending the long wait for Ram temple in Ayodhya. He made the remarks after headlining a road show, which started from Surendra Singh Baldiya Sports Stadium and ended at Dev Singh Maidan in Pithoragarh. Thousands of local people including public representatives, advocates, ex-servicemen and people from across the state warmly welcomed CM Dhami and joined the road show as it started from Clock Tower Takana, Gupta Tiraha, Kemmu Roadways Station on the way to Dev. Passed through.

Acknowledging the warm public welcome amid beating of drums, playing of musical instruments and performance of folk dance forms like Chholiya, the CM showered petals on the local people in appreciation of them. At the inauguration of Ram temple in Ayodhya on January 22, CM Dhami said that ‘Pran Pratishtha’ will mark the end of a long wait of 500 years. He said that had it not been for the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the moment for which a large section of the country’s population was waiting would never have come.

He said that in the lead up to the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony to be held in Ayodhya on January 22, a large-scale cleanliness campaign is being run across the state. “The moment, which has been anxiously awaited for more than 500 years, has finally arrived. We have the privilege of being born in the generation that will witness the inauguration of the grand Ram temple in Ayodhya. We are indebted to the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Modi for this, Dhami said. It is a matter of pride for us. “Before the opening of the temple in Ayodhya, cleanliness campaign is being conducted everywhere in Uttarakhand. At our religious places, ghats, temples and public places, programs are being organized and public campaigns are being conducted ahead of the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony on 22 January.

Meanwhile, in response to Prime Minister Modi’s call for cleaning places of worship ahead of the January 22 event, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh swept the Hanuman temple in Lucknow on Tuesday. The Defense Minister was in Lucknow to attend the Army Day programme. Singh reached Hanuman Setu temple near Lucknow University on Tuesday morning and was seen picking up a broom and cleaning the floor. After this he offered prayers at the tomb. The Defense Minister said, “Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has called upon all the countrymen to contribute to the cleanliness of the temples around them.

Today I went to Hanuman Setu temple in Lucknow and donated shramdaan under the #Swachchteerth campaign and got the privilege of serving Hanumanji.” The minister posted from his official X handle. Union Minister Anurag Thakur was also seen doing similar cleaning at the Hanuman Temple in Connaught Place in the national capital on Tuesday. Speaking to media persons, Thakur said, “PM Modi has called upon everyone to clean temples across the country. I also took part in this ongoing campaign today. I want to send a message to fellow citizens that there is no better act of devotion than this.” Than ensuring the cleanliness of our religious places.”
