Puran Poli is the main food of Maharashtra, it is prepared on every festival, you should also taste it.

Puran Poli is a dish that is made on almost every festival in Maharashtra. However, this dish is prepared in many other states also. People like it a lot. Puran Poli is a flat bread filled with a sweet lentil stuffing. In Marathi language, the sweet stuffing is called Puran and the flat bread is called Poli. It is a popular Indian sweet paratha made with sweet dal and jaggery filling. Many people complain that their Puran Poli does not become soft. In such a situation, you can follow the recipe given below to make perfect Puran Poli.
Material
Flour – 2 cups (250 grams)
Chana dal – 1/2 cup (100 grams) (soaked)
Salt – 1 pinch
Ghee – 4-5 tbsp
Sugar – 1/3 cup (65 grams)
Jaggery – 1/3 cup (65 grams)
Green cardamom powder – 1/2 tsp
Method

  • First of all we will prepare the flour. For this, add flour, 2 tbsp ghee, 1 pinch of salt as per the ingredients in a bowl and mix well.
  • Now knead a very soft dough with the help of lukewarm water. Then cover it with a cloth for 20 minutes and let it set.
  • After kneading the dough, now prepare the stuffing of chana dal. Soak the pulses in water for 2 hours first.
  • After the stipulated time, put the soaked lentils in the cooker with half a cup of water and cook.
  • After 1 whistle in the cooker, slow down the gas and then after 2 minutes turn off the gas and let the pressure of the cooker release.
  • Put the lentils in a pan with jaggery and sugar and dry them.
    When the pressure is released, filter the lentils through a strainer and remove the water.
    When the lentils cool down, put them in a jar and grind them. Now put the pan on the gas and put the pulses in it.
    Also add jaggery, cardamom powder and sugar as per the ingredients.
    Cook the mixture on medium flame while stirring continuously until the jaggery and sugar dissolve well.
  • When you feel that the stuffing has thickened, turn off the gas. Take out the mixture in a bowl and cool it.
  • The dough was ready. Prepare small balls from it. Prepare the dough stuffing according to the dough.
  • Now apply ghee on a ball and flatten it with your hands. Roll out the dough a little, then place the stuffing in it and cover it from all sides.
    Now flatten it with your hands. Then prepare it by rolling it with a rolling pin. In this way, roll all the Puran Poni and keep them aside.
    Now put the tawa on the gas and apply ghee and prepare all the puran poli like paratha.
