Reports about my health are amusing: CM Stalin
Chennai: Chief Minister MK Stalin on Friday dismissed rumors about his health and said he was surprised by reports about his health.
Speaking on “World Tamil Diaspora Day” here on Friday, Stalin said, “Yesterday, a newspaper wrote that my health is not good and I am not enthusiastic. While reading the report I wondered what was wrong with me. Is?” Stalin expressed surprise, “When Tamil Nadu and its people are happy, what more do I want?”
Citing an interview with a woman who expressed happiness over the CM distributing Rs 8,000 (Rs 6,000 flood relief and Rs 1,000 Pongal gift and monthly honorarium) in a month before the Pongal festival, the CM quoted the unnamed woman as saying Said, “I have received flood relief, monthly KMUT (Kalaignar’s Magalir Urimaai Thogai) honor money and Rs 1,000 Pongal gift brides got one kg of free rice, sugar and even a sugarcane. CM gave Rs 8,000 in a month before Pongal. Have distributed Rs. I don’t need to expect from mothers to celebrate Pongal. The happiness I saw on sister’s face is my tonic.”
Stalin thanked all the Tamil migrants, saying, “My thoughts are always about the people, not about me. I stand by what is reasonable under any circumstances. I work beyond my strength. I reject such reports. I will do it and will continue to work as usual.” World Diaspora Tamil Meet is being appreciated across the world for coming in such large numbers.
