Smuggler arrested near Vivekananda Ashram, intoxicating tablets seized from his possession

Raipur: Senior Superintendent of Police Prashant Aggarwal has directed all the police gazetted officers of Raipur Police, including station in-charges, in-charge Anti-Crime and Cyber Unit to take action against illegal buying and selling of banned intoxicating tablets/syrup and by identifying the people involved in this business illegally. In the same sequence, information was received that a person riding a two-wheeler near Vivekananda Ashram Tiraha under Azad Chowk police station area had banned intoxicating tablets with him and was looking for a customer to sell them. On which Additional Superintendent of Police West Jai Prakash Carpenter and City Superintendent of Police Azad Chowk Mayank Gurjar (I.P.S.) verified the information and directed Police Station Incharge Azad Chowk to catch the accused red handed with banned intoxicating tablets. On which, under the leadership of police station in-charge Azad Chowk, the team of police station Azad Chowk went to the said place, identified the two-wheeler and the person of the same description mentioned by the informer, identified the person and arrested him. During interrogation, the person revealed his name to be Saif Khan, resident of Idgahbhatha Azad Chowk, Raipur. When the team members searched the two-wheeler, it was found that banned drug tablet Nitrosan-10 was kept in the trunk. When Saif Khan was asked to produce valid documents or other documents in connection with the possession of the said banned intoxicating tablets, an attempt was being made to mislead the team members by not presenting any valid documents or papers of any kind. On which the accused Saif Khan alias Chhotu was arrested and a total of 80 pieces of banned drug tablets Nitrosan-10, sale amount worth approximately Rs. 4,000/- and the two-wheeler used in the incident number CG/04/MG/7940 Jumla, worth approximately, were recovered from his possession. Rs 60,000/- were seized and action was taken against the accused by registering crime number 351/2023 under Section 22(B) Narcotic Act at Police Station Azad Chowk.
