Smuggling of 120 liters of illegal liquor in the village, 2 accused arrested
Sarangarh. On Wednesday, the police arrested two accused of making 120 liters of illegal liquor in City Kotwali police station. Seeing the police, two accused fled from the spot. All the accused have been arrested under the Excise Act and sent to jail. According to the information, Sarangarh Police had received information from the informer that some persons of village Rampagulla were hiding a large quantity of Mahua liquor illegally in the Khar of Rampagulla for manufacturing and selling it. The City Kotwali Police conducted a raid at the place indicated by the informer. Where two accused were arrested by the police and two accused ran away after seeing the police.
Both the arrested accused Rajesh Sidar (age 42 years) are residents of Kamla Nagar Sarangarh, and Gopal Munda (age 40 years) are residents of Bhognar police station Sarangarh. Seeing the same police, Hiralal alias Bauna resident Rampagulla along with Tikaram Sahu resident Rampagulla fled away. Both these absconding accused used to work for a daily wage of Rs 500. 12 pieces of 10/10 liter raw Mahua liquor Jumla (120 liters) filled in white colored plastic were seized from both the arrested accused. Its price is said to be around Rs 12000. All the accused have been arrested under the Excise Act and sent to jail.
