Odisha: Youth missing after getting swept away in Garjan Khol waterfall

Bhubaneswar: A youth went missing after being swept away by the strong currents at Garjan Khol waterfall in Nagira panchayat under Pallahara sub-division of Angul district on Saturday. The missing youth has been identified as Lipun Behera, a resident of Balrai village in Keonjhar. According to reports, Lipun had gone with his two friends to bathe in the waterfall and record a video for social media.

While bathing at the upper part of the waterfall, Lipun was caught in the strong currents triggered by sudden rains and fell into the deep pool. His mobile phone used for recording was lost by his friends during the incident. Despite immediate efforts by his friends and local residents to locate him, Lipun is still missing. On receiving information, the Banspal fire service team reached the spot and launched a search operation, but the missing youth could not be traced. The search was on till the time of writing the report.
