Nirmala Sitharaman alleges M.K. Stalin is trying to divert farmers’ attention

Tamil Nadu: “Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin’s allegation that the central government has ordered Tamil Nadu not to provide incentives for paddy cultivation is completely false.
Furthermore, it is clear that this is politically motivated misinformation, deliberately designed to mislead Tamil Nadu farmers,” alleged Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. Regarding this, Avar X posted on a social media website on Sunday, stating:
“The message sent to the Chief Secretaries of not only Tamil Nadu but all states is a suggestion to align the incentive policies offered by state governments with national priorities.
This suggestion by the central government is a constructive and forward-thinking approach aimed at promoting crop diversification and achieving self-sufficiency in pulses, oilseeds, etc. This will enable farmers to grow crops with higher domestic demand and earn higher profits.
Announcing incentives or bonuses above the minimum support price has always been the exclusive prerogative of state governments. No one has taken away that right.
Instead of working diligently, with the nation’s interests in mind, Chief Minister Stalin is deliberately engaged in diversionary activities for his own petty, selfish political gains. While the nation is seeking solutions, the DMK is creating problems. While the central government is providing generous support, the DMK is exploiting this for electoral politics.
Such behavior is unbecoming of a Chief Minister holding a high position under the Constitution. Tamil Nadu farmers are not expecting a government that exploits their concerns for votes, but rather one that works to improve their livelihoods.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said in the post, “No matter which party is in power, the National Democratic Alliance government will continue to work tirelessly for every farmer in every state. We will never be held back by such deliberately created problems.”
