Pongal Gift Package Scheme: CM to launch it tomorrow
Tamil Nadu: Chief Minister M.K. Stalin will launch a scheme to provide ₹3,000 along with a Pongal gift package on Thursday (January 8) in Alandur, Chennai.
Chief Minister M.K. Stalin announced that Rice Family Card holders will receive ₹3,000 in cash along with brown rice, sugarcane, and borax to ensure everyone celebrates the Tamil festival of Pongal with joy.
The brown rice and sugarcane for the gift set have been shipped from the Tamil Nadu Consumer Goods Corporation warehouse to fair price shops.
Tokens have been distributed for the past two days to ensure people can safely collect these gift packages without crowding. Chief Minister M.K. Stalin will launch a scheme to provide ₹3,000 along with a Pongal gift package on Thursday (January 8) in Alandur, Chennai. Following this, distribution of Pongal gift packages will begin across Tamil Nadu.
