Fake Police DSP case: Accused shared fake promotion letters on social media

Bhubaneswar: The fake DSP incident in Bhubaneswar is unfolding and police found that the accused had shared fake ‘promotion letters’ in his social media.
According to information, police arrested a man identified as Manas Ranjan Senapati, a resident of Bhadrak had posed as a DSP. He had shared pictures of his promotion letters, photos and some documents.
It was found that he had earlier shared the picture of a promotion letter allegedly issued by the Home Ministry. He had treacherously clicked pictures near the DSP office in Bhadrak district and shared it in his Facebook and Instagram.
The police investigation is underway. Counterfeit currencies worth Rs 2 lakh were seized from his possession along with a police uniform.
According to information, during the routine patrolling and checking, the Saheed Nagar police suspected him and enquired. On further investigating police found that he had allegedly duped many students on the pretext of giving jobs. A fake identity card with the designation of the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) was also found.
