Tamil Nadu: 35-year-old daily wage laborer dies due to electric shock

Tiruchi: A daily wage labourer from Kumbakonam died of electrocution on Thursday. According to sources, Mahendran, 35, a resident of Karuppur near Kumbakonam, used to earn money by collecting empty bottles in his spare time.

On Thursday, when Mahendran went to Vikkiravandi bypass to look for empty bottles, he accidentally touched an electric wire and soon got electrocuted.

Seeing him fall, people nearby rescued him and rushed him to Kumbakonam GH, where he was declared dead. The Kumbakonam taluk police have registered a case and are investigating.
