2-wheeler owner found another bike with same number; challan issued

Chhatrapur: Satya Narayan Behera, a vehicle owner from Agasti Nuagaon in the Chhatrapur block, was shocked when two challans were issued against his vehicle, claiming that the vehicle had never gone to the place mentioned in the challan.

The matter came to light when Behera went to the pollution renewal center on Monday to comply with a government rule. However, he was refused a PUCC renewal after discovering that his vehicle had an outstanding e-challan of Rs 3,500 for over-speeding and riding without a helmet, issued by the Kotinada police station near Aska, from September 23rd of this year.

More curiously, according to his claims, he never took his bike to Kotinada.

Furthermore, while the challan was issued against Behera’s two-wheeler, a TVS Victor (OD076085), the picture of the bike on the challan is reportedly different.

According to Behera, the challan shows a picture of a bike with two exhaust pipes, while his bike has a factory-fitted exhaust pipe, which suggests that both bikes have the same registration number, and one of them is fake.
