Tamil Nadu: Young woman arrested for stabbing woman and trying to steal her jewellery

Tamil Nadu: Police arrested a woman near Tiruvallur who entered a house pretending to be a surveyor, suddenly stabbed the woman, and tried to snatch her jewelry.
Shyamala (55), a resident of Puttur near Tiruvallur, was alone at home on Saturday afternoon when Pavithra (28), a resident of the same area, approached her, reportedly to conduct a census.
At that time, Pavithra suddenly stabbed Shyamala in the neck and hand with a hidden knife and tried to snatch the jewelry from her neck.
At that time, Shyamala pushed Pavithra, who was injured, away, locked the door from the outside, and shouted to call the neighbors. Neighbors rushed to the Sevvapet police station and informed the police.
Subsequently, police arrived, rescued Shyamala, who had sustained injuries to her neck, and sent her to the Tiruvallur Government Medical College Hospital. After this, after a thorough investigation, the police registered a case against Pavitra, arrested her and sent her to jail.
