Farmers protest to protect crop fields through irrigation

Farmers have expressed their concern that the last lands of their crop fields are drying up due to lack of irrigation water. On Wednesday, farmers of Kapugallu, Nallabandagudem, Dwarakunta and Redlakunta villages in Kodada mandal area protested in the RK Major canals. They said that currently water is being released in batches once every 15 days, but the water is not reaching the last ayacut. The farmers expressed their concern that they have been facing many difficulties in cultivating crops for urea, but when the crops are ready, they are not happy. The farmers are in tears as they are not getting the return on their investment. They said that no matter how many times they have brought it to the attention of the authorities, they have not been heeded. They have requested the authorities and public representatives to respond immediately and release water in full to save their crop fields. Farmers from four villages, Jala Srinivas, Jala Venkanna, Gopi, Thirapaiah, Muthaiah, Mahesh, Karthik, Somaiya, Nagesh, Rambabu, Shankar, Nageswara Rao, Venu, and Bhiksham, participated in this program.
