Tejashwi Yadav’s Raj Bhavan march over the student agitation in Bihar.

Patna. Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav led a march to the Raj Bhavan in Patna on Wednesday to protest against issues such as student agitations, paper leaks, and AK-47 firing incidents in Bihar. The march, which began at the JP Golambar near Gandhi Maidan, was heading towards Lok Bhavan when police stopped the protesters by erecting barricades near the Income Tax (IT) Golambar. Police used water cannons to control the crowd and detained several RJD leaders, including Tejashwi Yadav.
According to police officials, extensive security arrangements had been made in anticipation of the march. To ensure smooth traffic flow, the administration had regulated vehicle movement on several key routes, including the area near Patna Junction. The police had planned to halt the march at Dakbungalow Chowk, but RJD workers attempted to push forward by breaking through the security cordon.
Security Cordon Breached at Dakbungalow Chowk
As the RJD workers’ march advanced, the police attempted to stop them. A large police force had been deployed at Dakbungalow Chowk. Officials appealed to the protesters to stop peacefully, but the workers continued to move forward.
RJD leaders and workers tried to remove the police barricades. Subsequently, the police adopted a firm stance to bring the situation under control. Water cannons were deployed to stop the protesters. Even amidst the powerful jets of water, the workers continued to raise slogans.
Several Leaders, Including Tejashwi Yadav, Detained
During the march, the police detained several RJD leaders, including Tejashwi Yadav. Police officials stated that all the leaders were detained as a precautionary measure and would be released later.
Even after being detained, the RJD leaders continued their protest against the government. Party workers alleged that the government was ignoring students’ issues and taking action against those protesting democratically.
Attack on the Government Over Student Issues
Through this march, the RJD raised issues concerning the interests of students in Bihar. Party leaders state that questions are constantly being raised regarding the state’s examination system. Incidents of paper leaks are affecting students’ futures, and the government must provide answers.
The RJD also questioned the law-and-order situation following an incident involving AK-47 gunfire. The party alleges that criminals in Bihar are becoming emboldened, raising serious concerns about the safety of the general public.
Administration Takes Control of the Situation
The police had made prior preparations to prevent any untoward incidents during the march. Additional police forces were deployed at key intersections and sensitive areas across the city.
The administration had appealed to the public to cooperate in maintaining traffic flow. Commuters faced difficulties on several routes due to the march; however, the police had arranged for traffic to be diverted via alternative routes.
RJD Alleges Suppression of Democratic Rights
RJD leaders targeted the government over the police action. The party claims that a peaceful march, organized to voice the concerns of the public and students, was forcibly halted.
RJD leaders stated that students have long been demanding reforms and transparency in the examination system. They argued that the government should address these grievances rather than attempting to suppress the agitation.
Stance of the Government and Administration
The administration maintains that upholding law and order is its responsibility and that adherence to established rules is mandatory for any march or protest. Officials stated that the police took necessary measures to control the situation and prevented any major untoward incident.
It has been indicated that the detained leaders, including Tejashwi Yadav, will be released later. Meanwhile, political tensions in Bihar remain high over issues such as the student agitation and paper leaks.
