The renovated art academy will reopen on November 10

Panaji: Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant will on November 10 inaugurate the renovated Kala Academy building, a major cultural center run by the state government in Panaji, state Art and Culture Minister Govind Gaude said on Tuesday.

The renovation work of the Kala Academy was going on since 2021. Gaud told PTI that the building will once again be opened to the general public and will also host the upcoming International Film Festival of India (IFFI).

IFFI will be held from 20 to 28 November this year.

In July this year, a slab of an open air auditorium under repair in the Kala Academy building collapsed.

Goude said work to restore the open air auditorium will continue, but the remaining part of the building is ready for use.
