Kanker: The sand mafia is engaged in illegal mining in Mahanadi of Gram Panchayat Dudhwa. During this, the sand mafia has crossed all limits of humanity and started digging on the land of the crematorium adjacent to the river. Due to which the buried dead bodies have started coming out. The remains of dead bodies are lying here and there on the sand on the banks of the river, due to which the villagers are very angry.
After the death of any person in Gram Panchayat Dudhwa and its adjacent settlements, villagers perform the last rites of the dead body on the banks of Mahanadi in the area. There is also a cremation ground adjacent to this Mahanadi. In which apart from cremation, the dead body is also buried on the river bank. But for the last few days, illegal sand mining is being done indiscriminately from Mahanadi. In many parts of the river, the mafia digs with JCB and fills sand in the tractor. During this, skeletons of buried dead bodies are also coming out. Those who are being thrown here and there instead of being buried back.
The villagers told that sometimes some part of the skeleton gets loaded in the car. Some part is thrown away. This is hurting our religious sentiments. This should be stopped immediately. The villagers have demanded an immediate ban on illegal sand mining. The villagers are talking about raising this matter in the Gram Panchayat.
