Three arrested for illegal camel slaughter in Hyderabad, four camels saved
Hyderabad: El Grupo de Trabajo arrested three people for illegally keeping camels for the purpose of sacrifice in Hakimpet Kunta on Sunday. Police rescued four camels and also recovered butcher’s knives and other related material. Those arrested include Mohammad Ismail (30), owner of a meat shop in Hakimpet Kunta of Tolichowki, Mohammad Salman (23), a meat shop worker and resident of Tolichowki, and Siraj Khan (40), a construction worker in Hakimpet. He and his partners plan to sell camel meat to customers and make easy money. For this, he contacted Tal Shyam, a resident of Indore, Madhya Pradesh, three months ago and bought a total of seven camels. Following the warning, the task group cleared the area and trapped the three, as well as rescuing the animals and seizing other materials. The suspects were handed over to Filmnagar Police for necessary action. Police said it is illegal to sacrifice any type of animal except as permitted by law. They warned the population that keeping camels with the intention of killing them is illegal, and if anyone raised objections they would file cases as per relevant laws, he warned.
