It is known that oil transportation has been halted at the Strait of Hormuz due to the Iran war. Iran has stopped ships from various countries. Among them are ships from India. However, recently Iran has agreed to allow Indian ships to pass. After diplomatic talks between India and Iran, Iran has allowed Indian ships to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.
With this, it seems that two vessels, Pushpak and Parimal, have resumed their journey through this strait. Other Indian ships are also likely to enter India through the strait. This is a great relief for India. Already, due to the restrictions on this route, oil, fertilizers, and some types of food items have stopped reaching India. This has led to an LPG gas crisis in India. In this context, Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar spoke to Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. He requested that Indian ships be allowed. Iran agreed to this and allowed Indian ships. However, ships belonging to the US, Israel, the European Union, and their allied countries are still not allowed.
Meanwhile, a Liberian ship that left Saudi Arabia has reached the Mumbai port. This is the first time a ship has successfully reached India since the Iran-Israel war. Iran has warned that its permission is mandatory for ships to pass through the Iranian-controlled Strait of Hormuz. The blockade of this route has led to an increase in international oil prices.
