Two drug smugglers arrested in Karnataka
Mangaluru: Central Crime Section police arrested two people for selling banned drug MDMA to the city public and students and seized drugs worth Rs 6 lakh from their possession. Based on the alert, the police team reached a place in Kadri Park of the city and seized drugs from both the accused. The arrested have been identified as Nawaz (40) of Manjeshwar in Kasaragod district of Kerala and Azharuddin alias Azar (39) of Bantwal taluk in Dakshina Kannada district. Police have recovered 120 grams of Methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA) worth Rs 6 lakh from the accused. Apart from this, three mobile phones, a digital scale and a scooter used for selling drugs were also seized. He said that the total value of the seized property was estimated at Rs 6,83,120. A case has been registered in Cyber Crime, Economic and Narcotics Commissionerate. Police is searching for other people involved in this incident.
