Vehicle collides with truck and then falls into ditch, 10 people killed

Guwahati. At least 10 people were killed in a road accident in Mariani area of Assam-Nagaland border area on Wednesday. The officers provided this information. A senior police officer from Assam’s Jorhat district said a vehicle was coming from Kohima to Mariani when it collided with a truck coming from the opposite direction. It is being told that both the vehicles fell into a deep ditch. The condition of the truck driver and his assistant is critical. “The accident occurred towards Nagaland,” the officer said. It was raining heavily and probably due to low visibility both the vehicles fell into a 200 meter deep gorge.” Meanwhile, police teams have reached the spot and rescue operations are underway.
