New Delhi: Voting has started for the sixth phase of Lok Sabha elections. Voting started at 7 am. In this phase, voting is taking place on 58 seats in six states and union territories. Voting is taking place on 7 seats in Delhi, 14 in Uttar Pradesh, 8 in Bihar, 8 in West Bengal, 10 in Haryana, 4 in Jharkhand, 6 in Odisha and one in Jammu and Kashmir. 889 candidates are in the fray in this phase. More than 11 crore voters will decide the election fate of the state.
Voting will also be held on Anantnag-Rajouri seat of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday. In the sixth phase, voting will be held on Saturday for some Lok Sabha and Assembly seats of Odisha as well as some parliamentary seats of West Bengal. Prominent candidates in the sixth phase include Dharmendra Pradhan (BJP) from Sambalpur (Odisha), Manoj Tiwari (BJP) and Kanhaiya Kumar (Congress) from North East Delhi, Maneka Gandhi (BJP) from Sultanpur (Uttar Pradesh), Anantnag-Rajouri (Jammu Mehbooba Mufti (PDP) from Kashmir, Manohar Lal Khattar from Karnal and Naveen Jindal from Kurukshetra.
