Kantara beauty Rukmini Vasanth on the role of villain
Rishabh’s self-directed Pan India project Kantara Chapter 1 (Prequel) has become the highest grossing Indian film of 2025. It has recorded a rare feat of becoming the second highest grossing Kannada film, earning a lifetime collection of Rs. 800 crores at the global box office.
Meanwhile, Rukmini Vasanth will be seen in the villain role in the prequel, which no one expected. Many were shocked to see this role. However, Rukmini Vasanth shared an interesting thing about the villain role in a recent interview.
“It was a very risky experiment for me to play a villain in Kantara Chapter 1 in the early days of my career. I wondered if I would play villain roles for the rest of my life. People loved me playing a negative role. They didn’t hate me. That’s why I didn’t need to worry about how the film would play. No one expected this to happen, it’s a great thing,” said Rukmini Vasanth. Now the comments are going viral.
Rukmini Vasanth is busy with back to back movies. Two of them are big budget movies. One of them is Toxic starring KGF star Yash and the other is Dragon starring global star NTR under the direction of Prashanth Neel. Since both these movies are star hero movies with a pan India image, expectations are high.
