Woman Sarpanch dismissed by SDM, she will not be able to contest elections for 6 years
Gariaband: The woman sarpanch of Barbahali panchayat Sumitra Sinha has been dismissed by SDM Arpita Pathak. According to the order, Sumitra Sinha will not be eligible for any election for the next 6 years. Actually, Karan Singh Pathar, Phoolsingh Pathar, Shobharam Manjhi, Hiralal Manjhi, Kanwal Manjhi, Devkumar Pradhan, Sitaram Pathar, Jugeshwar Yadav of Barbahli opened a front against the continuous economic irregularities in the Panchayat. On March 22, 2023, the youths made a written complaint to the SDM and told that Sarpanch Sumitra is distributing the amount of Panchayat development item by making bill vouchers in the name of family members.
On the basis of online data, the complainants told that 17 thousand was paid to father-in-law Hiradhar Sinha in the name of tree guard and bamboo work from the 14th finance head. In the name of husband Puneet Sinha’s firm Puneet Krishi Farm and material supplier, 2 lakh 500 was paid separately in the name of para transportation, embalming and cleaning, 19,000 in the name of maternal uncle and father-in-law Bhojraj Sinha. The complainants had also told most of the bogus work in this payment. Apart from this, a complaint was also made for taking out ration in the name of dead people by appointing son Dushyant Sinha as a salesman of the ration shop run by the panchayat.
