Jalandhar: Policeman attacked near Narinder Cinema, 3 arrested

Jalandhar: In a shocking incident near Narinder Cinema, Munshi Satpal of Thana 6 was attacked by three men in a car. The incident took place yesterday evening, when Satpal was going towards Narinder Cinema on his motorcycle. According to Satpal’s complaint, the car in front of him suddenly stopped, forcing him to swerve the car to avoid a collision. The car was being driven recklessly and the driver seemed to be drunk. When Satpal questioned the driver about the sudden braking and reckless driving, the matter turned into a violent clash.

Two men got out of the car and started attacking Satpal. They called their third accomplice to the spot and the trio started beating him. Satpal sustained injuries and was immediately rushed to the hospital for treatment. Following the attack, the police immediately registered a case against them for obstructing duty and assaulting a police officer. SHO Sahil Chaudhary confirmed the arrest of three suspects Azad, Sukhwinder Singh and Vikramjit Singh. Further investigation is underway.
