Bus operators are arbitrary on Raipur to Abhanpur Navapara Rajim Gariaband route, charging more fare
Raipur. Mini buses operate on Abhanpur to Navapara Rajim Gariaband route. Operators of these buses are charging more fare than the fare fixed by the government. Fare for 1 km and 2 km is ₹10. Students studying in school and college are upset with this. Fare of ₹20 is being charged for 5 km.
If a child boards from Kendri and goes to college at Kathia Mode, he has to pay ₹20. Similarly, if a child boards from Abhanpur bus stand and goes to college at Kathia Mode, which is only 2 km, he has to pay ₹10. Fare from Raipur to Abhanpur is 30 in some buses and 40 in others. Similarly, if one gets off 2 km further within the boundary of Abhanpur, ₹50 is charged. Sometimes half the fare is charged saying that there is crowd. In this way, while on one hand arbitrary fare is being charged, on the other hand incidents of misbehavior with common passengers are common. They are treated as if they are some helpless person.
Apart from this, passengers are stuffed into the bus and if they say anything, the conductor misbehaves with them. This incident keeps happening every day. The previous government had made free passes for children and people who go out to earn a living, due to which people were getting benefits, but with the change of government, that system has ended and common citizens and students are upset with the arbitrariness of the bus operators. The transport department never checks how the fare is to be charged. Even the list of fares which should be put up in the buses is not put up due to which passengers do not even know how much fare has been fixed by the government for which place. The bus conductor never gives tickets, that is to say, there is no account of how many passengers are to be seated and how many passengers are being seated. If any accident happens, the passenger will not have any proof of travelling. This is an act of cunningness and fraud. If the transport department pays attention to this serious problem, then the common citizens will get relief; along with this the public representatives also need to pay attention to this.
