Big action by Karnataka Police against three Bajrang Dal workers
Bengaluru (IANS). The Karnataka Police is in a mood to crack down on incidents of moral policing in Mangaluru city and surrounding areas. Preparations are on to issue deportation orders against three Bajrang Dal workers from Dakshina Kannada district involved in these incidents. Sources confirmed this on Friday.
Police sources said three Bajrang Dal workers have already been sent notices asking why they should not be expelled for their illegal activities and attempts to create disturbance in the society. The names and other details in this regard are yet to be announced.
The activists were called to the office of the DCP, Law and Order Division, in Mangaluru on Friday. Police sources said that they will be given the deportation order to maintain law and order in the society and give a message on incidents of moral policing.
Police said the Bajrang Dal workers would be deported for a period of one year. The local police had given a report in this regard on the activists being involved in incidents of mayhem at Sultan Gold Jewelery stores and their commotion during Holi festival celebrations in Muroli.
A boy from the minority community was attacked by a group at Sultan Gold Jewelery Stores on December 6, 2022 for allegedly having an affair with a girl working in the jewelery store.
Complaints were lodged from both the sides regarding the incident. The victim was a co-worker of the girl and the parents suspected that the boy had fallen prey to their daughter. Four Bajrang Dal workers were arrested in connection with the incident.
On the other hand, in March 2023, in the Holi program ‘Rang De Barsa’ organized in Muroli, members of Bajrang Dal entered and ransacked the premises. The boys and girls were partying when the attack happened. were throwing colors at each other.
Activists had claimed that the boys behaved indecently. He objected to the fact that boys of other religions were celebrating the festival of Holi. Police had arrested six people in this case.
