Chief Minister Siddaramaiah held a meeting with the MLAs to calm the discontent in the party
Bengaluru (IANS). Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah held separate meetings with MLAs at Vidhana Soudha regarding preparations for the Lok Sabha elections.
The purpose of this meeting is also to pacify the discontent in the party. Some MLAs had written letters to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah informing him about the problems being faced in the work. He had alleged that the minister was not supporting him in this.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah held meetings with MLAs, ministers and in-charges of Tumakuru, Yadgir and Chitradurga districts between 11 am and 2 pm. This was followed by a meeting with MLAs, representatives and concerned ministers from Bagalkot, Ballari and Dharwad districts.
Sources said that the Congress party has decided to suppress the discontent spread in the party by holding meetings in the initial phase. In this meeting, the MLAs of the respective districts will be given a fair chance to give their views on their issues and problems to the ministers.
After taking feedback from the MLAs, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will give necessary instructions to the ministers for cooperation.
Sources have said that the Congress high command has given clear instructions in this regard as the party wants to give a message to the country ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.
Siddaramaiah may also request the legislators not to insist on release of funds for developmental activities as the party’s first priority is to deliver all the five guarantee schemes and ensure implementation of major projects in the state.
MLA B.R. The letter by Patil and 11 other party MLAs exposing corruption of cabinet ministers in the state turned out to be a major embarrassment, but Patil has claimed that the letter is fake and photoshopped and has filed a police complaint.
Sources said that the legislators are unhappy with the performance of the cabinet ministers.
