Gujarat government will provide 24-hour medical assistance during Garba events

Gandhinagar (IANS). The Gujarat government has taken steps for the health safety of its citizens regarding the upcoming Navratri festival celebrations. The government has issued a circular mandating the provision of medical teams, ambulances and continuous medical care at Garba events.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, officials said the circular signed by Dr Neelam Patel, Additional Director (Public Health), Health Department, recommended such measures due to the large-scale ‘Raas Garba’ events being organized in urban and rural areas during the Navratri festival. The need for

To address these concerns, the circular directs officials to ensure presence of medical teams equipped with ambulances at these venues. Furthermore it emphasizes the importance of offering round-the-clock medical treatment and access to doctors at nearby health centers and hospitals.

Although the circular does not clearly mention the reasons behind these measures, it is speculated that the move has been taken in view of the recent spate of heart attack incidents at public events.
